ROI methodology

Every result shows its workings.

How the calculator turns your assumptions into cash, time and capacity, kept apart, with Rōvn’s full costs taken off. Read it, challenge it, change it.

ContentsThree results

Three results, never added together.

The three results and what each one counts
ResultWhat it counts
CashThe agency premium you’d no longer pay on the hours your new starts replace: the rate difference, not the bill.
TimeStaff hours no longer spent chasing files. Hours, not dollars.
CapacityShifts worked because clinicians started sooner. Shifts, not revenue.

Cash and capacity can overlap. A shift a new start covers sooner may be a shift you’d have paid agency for, and the model doesn’t take those shifts out of either. That’s why they’re separate measures and never added together.

The calculator and the samples show net cash first: cash minus Rōvn’s year-one cost, the subscription and setup. It can be negative, and it shows as negative. Cash before Rōvn’s cost, time and capacity follow, each labelled on its own line.

The formulas.

The formula behind each result
ResultFormula
Cashagency hours replaced × (agency rate − staff rate) × ramped months, where agency hours replaced is the lesser of your agency hours and starts × days sooner ÷ 7 × shifts a week × 8 hours
Timestarts × (file hours today − with Rōvn) × ramped months
Capacitystarts × days sooner ÷ 7 × shifts a week × ramped months
Costssubscription × months + setup, with your team’s hours beside it
Net cashcash − cash costs

Ramped months: 25%, 50%, 75%, then 100% use, so 10.5 over 12 months. Cash counts only the agency hours your new starts replace: the lesser of your agency hours and the hours new starts work in the days they now arrive sooner, at 8 hours a shift. With no starts, every result is 0 and there’s no payback.

Sample pricing: $1,500 a month for every 6 starts a month, pro rata, plus $4,000 setup; systems are quoted. Where today is already at or better than the sample, that result is 0, never negative.

Where the defaults come from.

Every default is a sample to show the maths. Replace each one with your own records.

The calculator holds Rōvn’s side at these samples: 2 hours a file, 14 days to first shift, the ramp and the pricing. To use your written proposal, put its figures into the formulas above.

What’s left out.

Revenue: extra shifts count as shifts, not income. Turnover, morale and quality.

Estimates, not a quote.

It follows from your assumptions; it isn’t a prediction. A positive number isn’t proof of savings without a measured baseline. Unknown cost, no net cash.

Costs and the ramp, month by month.

Setup lands before month 1, use ramps up over three months, and the subscription is paid every month. Payback is the first month after which the running total stays at or above zero.

Month by month: cash avoided, Rōvn’s cost, net and the running total

Sample assumptions: 120 agency hours a month at $95 vs $62, $4,000 setup, $1,500 a month. Your team’s 20 setup hours sit beside the ledger, not in it.

For organizations

Fill roles in days, not months.

For clinicians

Get working in days, not months.
