Where is the official Georgia registry?
Georgia DCH links to the Alliant Health Solutions Nurse Aide Program1. That search describes its results as validation of active or inactive nurse aide certification2. Follow the DCH link so a third-party directory does not become your authority.
Use the identifier requested by the official search. Do not enter a clinician’s personal information into a marketing form or an unofficial lookup site.
What belongs in the check record?
Record the matching identifier, certification status, date, source and findings the registry returns. Preserve the wording of an adverse or unresolved result and route it to the authorized reviewer. An automation must not turn it into a hiring rejection.
If the person has worked in another state, your reviewer should identify which other registry checks the role and applicable rules require. A Georgia result is not a substitute for every other jurisdiction’s record.
How do you stop repeating the same chase?
Keep two separate work items: obtaining the source result and deciding whether the organization’s requirements are met. Give each an owner. Ask the applicant for a correction once, explain the mismatch and track the response in the same file.
Before the start date, review the evidence for freshness under your policy. A saved result tells you what the source said when checked. It does not update itself. For nurses, see the Georgia RN and Georgia LPN guides.
Which source fits the role?
| Role or record | Official route | Do not substitute |
|---|---|---|
| Georgia CNA certification | DCH-linked nurse aide registry | An RN/LPN license search |
| Georgia RN or LPN | Georgia Board of Nursing | A CNA certificate |
| Nurse aide history in another state | That state’s official registry | A Georgia-only result |
Questions
Is Georgia’s CNA registry the Board of Nursing?
No. Georgia DCH provides the nurse aide registry route. RN and LPN licensing uses the Board of Nursing.
What does an inactive record mean?
It is the status returned by the source. Refer the exact record to the program and your authorized reviewer to resolve what is required. Do not label it active.
Can a course certificate replace the registry check?
No. Training completion and current registry status answer different questions.
What if the identifier does not match?
Ask the applicant to resolve the discrepancy and use the official program’s support route. Keep the check pending until you establish the correct record.
